Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen kept it professional in wake of Stefon Diggs' trade to Houston Texans
Jamie Germano-USA TODAY NETWORK

Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs were an incredible duo in Buffalo.

But the Bills quarterback lost his top receiver recently when Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans at the beginning of April along with a 2024 sixth-round pick and a 2025 fifth-round in exchange for a 2025 second-round pick.

And while numerous reports have seemed to imply that things weren't so great between the two, Allen put an end to all of that with a strong statement to reporters on Thursday.

Allen admitted that he texted Diggs immediately after the trade, thanking him for everything, per Sal Capaccio

Bills team reporter Maddy Glab added that Allen said his "lasting memory of Stefon Diggs will be that Diggs helped him become the quarterback that he is today."

There has been much speculation over things that might have occurred between the two stars, but it's clear they respect one another. And Allen wanted to take the time to show that.

While Diggs has not publicly commented on Allen since the trade, he did send a heartfelt message to the Bills.

"I can't begin to express the amount of love ad respect i have for the city of Buffalo ❤️. Four of the best years of my life, the city welcomed me with open arms. I'm forever grateful for you all and the @buffalobills organization ! Something special was built over these years with some very special men, that will always have a place in my heart. Billsmafia, so many great memories created throughout the years. Those games were crazy because of you. Sadly good things come to an end until we meet again ♾️ 14," Diggs wrote on Instagram.

There is no denying that Diggs and Allen were an incredible duo. Throughout his four seasons with the Bills, Diggs finished with 445 receptions for 5,372 receiving yards and 37 touchdowns. He was also named to the Pro Bowl all four years.
